Wheatland - Fishing Has No Boundaries
Annual Fishing Event
Event Dates:
The last full weekend in September
2001 – Present, Saturday & Sunday
Event Location:
El Dorado State Park
Bluestem Point, Goose Cove Area 3

Wheatland Fishing Has No Boundaries is an educational, non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to opening the great outdoors to disabled individuals through the world of fishing. It introduces educational devices to aid the disabled angler and affords a fishing experience for individuals who otherwise may not have such an opportunity.

Annual two or three – day events are held by Fishing Has No Boundaries Chapters all over the continent. With the varied locations of the chapters, many different styles of fishing and kinds of fish are available for our disabled anglers. All participants have experienced guides, as well as boats, bait, and special fishing equipment as needed. Meals are prepared to complement each day of fishing as well as entertainment. This people – helping – people event creates an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie shared by both the participants and the volunteers!

Our Board Members and valued Volunteers work hard all year to request & collect Grants, Corporate Sponsorships, Individual Donations, In – Kind Donations, Participant Goody Bags & Items, Door Prizes, Raffle Items & Baskets, set up and take down the tents/tables/chairs, prepare/repair equipment and docks, cook & clean, and so much more! The best part is all of Wheatland’s fundraising contributions remain local with Wheatland Fishing Has No Boundaries!

Our hope is to someday build a large ADA-compliant pavilion and area, with the help of El Dorado State Park and our sponsors to be enjoyed by the community when it is not in use for our annual Wheatland Fishing Has No Boundaries Event. This is proving to be a complex and costly venture, but our optimism is very much alive!

The cost of the Wheatland event is currently $25.00 per Participant (includes both days). Adaptive fishing equipment will be available, if needed. Participants may bring their own fishing pole or poles will be provided to use while participating in the event. Meals will consist of breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday & breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Transportation is the responsibility of the participants and will not be provided.

Our 100% Volunteer ran, and operated Chapter is always in search of experienced Boat Owners/Operators to assist us with getting the Participants out on the water – spend a few hours or spend the whole weekend! Setup and Teardown volunteers are also needed on the days before and after the annual events as well as during the event. Please reach out to one of our Board Members or Volunteers for additional information.

Registration and Volunteer information is available at our website wheatlandfishinghasnoboundaries.org or you may email wfhnbks@gmail.com or call 316-258-9280 for detailed directions or specific information.

We couldn’t make this possible (especially for over 20 years) without the love and support of so many volunteers and sponsors – from the bottom of all our hearts, THANK YOU!!!
